GICF STRENGTHENS CYBER SECURITY THRU CERT

Global Integrated Contact Facilities (GICF), Inc. strengthens its cybersecurity and digital information infrastructure through the establishment of its very own Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT).

July 8, 2021 Update:

GICF is among the limited number of BPO companies that are CERT-compliant under the National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT) of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Cybersecurity Bureau.

In a video conference via Zoom facilitated by DICT last May 18, 2021 in which GICF was among the attendees, BPO companies were given a briefer on the minimum requirements for the establishment of CERT within their organizations.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) CERT has been designated as sectoral lead in handling and responding to information security incidents in the BPO sector.

In a previous statement issued by DICT Secretary Gregorio B. Honasan, he underscored the importance of strengthening the country’s cybersecurity and protecting our critical information infrastructures from threats and risks especially as we endeavor to recover from the ongoing health crisis and as we transition to the new normal.

Dwight Raymund Baylon, GICF’s IT Director and DPO, said GICF’s Management is committed to ensuring a safe cyberspace for the company and its employees. “Protecting the organization from cyber threat is vital as we enable the organization to strengthen its resiliency, agility and performance highlighted more so by the pressures of the pandemic,” he said.

GICF EMPLOYEES ASSURED OF FREE MODERNA COVID-19 VACCINE

Global Integrated Contact Facilities (GICF), Inc. steps up its COVID-19 mitigation strategy by providing free COVID-19 vaccines for all its employees.

May 20, 2021 Update:

The company’s procurement of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine was facilitated back in March 2021 and the first batch of doses are expected to arrive in the country in June with the succeeding batches arriving in Q3 of this year.

Just like the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, Moderna uses the technology mRNA and is manufactured in the USA. It also has an efficacy rate upwards of 94%.

GICF's initiative is in keeping with the national government's vaccination program and its efforts to fight the pandemic in the country. The company's own vaccination program covers all of its almost 1,000 employees.

"Ensuring the health and well-being of our employees is our top priority as we value our people as our best asset. This is also our company's contribution to the government's efforts to reach herd immunity the soonest time possible. We are one with the nation in striving to emerge victorious in this pandemic," GICF, Inc. CEO, Mr. Manuel "Beaver" Lopez, Jr. assured.

GICF’s Human Resources Senior Manager, Michael Sabino, who also spearheads the company's COVID-19 management, is urging his fellow employees to avail of the free vaccine.

"At this point, a number of people in our organization still have mixed views about vaccines, but we are hoping that, through our company's continuous vaccination awareness campaign, more will have a better understanding of the benefits of being vaccinated," said Mr. Sabino.

More details of the GICF COVID-19 vaccination program will be announced internally.
